Waste loading and unloading registers
The information is general in nature and does not replace consultancy: obligations must always be verified against the specific situation and current regulations.
Who must keep loading and unloading registers and how should they be managed?
Loading and unloading registers document the waste produced and managed, with quantities, EWC codes and movements. They are mandatory for certain categories of operators. With RENTRI, keeping them is progressively becoming digital. Incomplete or inconsistent records can lead to penalties.
What the registers are for
Loading and unloading registers track waste movements: incoming (loading) and outgoing (unloading). They are an essential traceability tool and must be consistent with FIR notes, the MUD and RENTRI.
Who must keep them
Registration is required for the operators identified by the legislation: original producers, carriers, dealers, brokers and facility operators, under the conditions laid down.
How they are kept
They may be kept on paper or, with RENTRI, digitally. In both cases the entries must be complete, timely and consistent with the transport documentation.
- Recording movements with EWC codes and quantities
- Consistency with FIR notes
- Alignment with the annual MUD declaration
- Retention for the prescribed periods
